Data processing

The AMIS team is heavily involved in the Integrated Data and Operations Centre (IDOC). Since its creation, it has developed and maintained expertise in high-level processing of data from long wavelength space missions.

For example, innovative algorithms have been developed to correct instrumental effects in the case of the ISOCAM instrument on board the ISO satellite. All data distributed by ESA were processed by this algorithm. The all sky IRAS survey was also reprocessed to correct for instrumental residues and photometric uncertainties. The Improved Reprocessing of the IRAS Survey (IRIS) is now accessible through IDOC, IRSA, or CDS in Strasbourg via Aladin.

We have also developed, with the L2S "inverse problems" group, unsupervised super-resolution methods (SUPREME) to obtain two to three times better resolution on Herschel/SPIRE images and spectral maps. We adapted the SANEPIC maximum likelihood method to the SPIRE and PACS data. These pipelines and the data, processed systematically and homogeneously, are distributed by IDOC via the HESIOD database, the first provider of Herschel photometric data in the Virtual Observatory.

In IDOC, we have also developed a "Cluster SZ" thematic portal that serves as an interface for the validation and internal distribution of Planck catalogues, as well as support for the public distribution of Planck's cluster SZ catalogues and ACT and SPT telescopes. This portal brings together complementary or value-added data in a homogeneous manner.
