MISTIC

This ERC-funded project aims to make significant advances in the fields of galactic astrophysics, microwave sky modeling, and component separation. These advances are essential for achieving the highest possible sensitivity in measuring the polarization of the Cosmic Microwave Background and in detecting the polarization associated with cosmic inflation.

Archived

  • Fields of study:

    • Interstellar Dust: Understanding Its Role in the Polarization of the CMB.
    • Interstellar Magnetic Fields: Modeling Their Influence on Observations.
    • Component separation: Distinguishing cosmological signals (e.g., inflation) from galactic signals (e.g., dust).
  • Scientific impact:

    • Improving the accuracy of CMB measurements.
    • More precise detection of cosmic inflation signatures.
